Why should my baby take Probiotic Baby from Jamieson?

Published:

During the first six months of life, infant colic, acid reflux and constipation are the most common gastrointestinal disorders sending you and your baby right to the pediatrician’s office. Probiotics can be very beneficial in managing many of these common conditions. With their ability to calm the gastrointestinal tract, probiotics have been associated with improving colic and may also help with allergies and diarrhea.

The intestines play an important part of the immune system, so ensuring your baby has adequate amounts of probiotics will help support their immunity. Children whose bacterial environment is disrupted because of antibiotic use or non-exclusive breastfeeding have a higher risk of developing asthma, suggesting there may be a benefit in taking probiotics to restore the healthy balance of bacteria.

Babies receive beneficial bacteria from the mother’s birth canal during natural birth, from breast milk, and from their surrounding environment. Babies delivered by caesarean section (C-section) have less beneficial bacteria in the first two years of life compared to those delivered naturally. This may explain why babies born by C-section are more likely to develop stomach infections, asthma and allergies later in life. Probiotics are good bacteria that, when consumed in adequate doses, can have a beneficial effect for your baby.

Jamieson Probiotic Baby contains Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis (BB-12®), a unique probiotic strain that has been clinically studied in infants, and has been used worldwide since 1985 with no reported side effects. Jamieson Probiotic Baby supports everyday intestinal balance and is free of artifical colours, flavours, or preservatives.
