Each vote in Facebook campaign directs money to environmental groups
Toronto, Ontario (August 16, 2011) — Today, Jamieson Laboratories launches Call for the Wild! The campaign, which runs until September 18, 2011, is a people’s choice donation program that will distribute $100,000 to five outstanding Canadian wildlife protection organizations (see below).

Call for the Wild! will increase awareness about the protection, rescue and rehabilitation of Canada’s wildlife. Throughout the five-week Jamieson Cares Facebook campaign, visitors can learn about the important work of each organization, watch videos of the groups in action and ask questions through social media. “For over 40 years, Jamieson has fought to protect animals and the environment,” says company Chairman Eric Margolis. “We actively support wildlife initiatives. With Call for the Wild!, our goal is to increase public awareness and compassion about the challenges wild animals face, often as a result of human interference.”
Call for the Wild! will increase awareness about the protection, rescue and rehabilitation of Canada’s wildlife.
As they learn about the unique contribution of each wildlife organization, Canadians will be invited to cast a vote for their favourite. Every vote will translate into a proportional donation from Jamieson Laboratories. The company has earmarked $100,000 to support the 2011 Call for the Wild! campaign. “Our commitment to wellness naturally extends to wildlife species,” continues Margolis. “We can only be as healthy as the wildlife and environment around us. Jamieson is proud to support the tireless efforts of these organizations that protect and rehabilitate our iconic animal species.”

Until September 18, visit jamiesoncares.com or facebook.com/jamiesonvitamins to learn more information or to cast your vote.

I agree with Lynne Jone. Why link this to facebook. When I go into the sight I don't see where I have to go to vote or who to vote for??? It's a bit complicated.

I am very interested to find out the ultimate distribution of the funds. I am long time supporter of two agencies in the "running". Jamieson is to be commended on their support for these very worthy causes.

This is very interesting, I am sure people will respond to the initiative. The world needs more events of this kind.

Thanks for your comment, Lynne. We house our Social Media campaign Apps on Facebook because of its widespread use and user friendly functionality. We make all campaigns available for those without a Facebook account as well by not requiring a Facebook login to participate. We’re sorry to hear you’re having Firewall difficulties at work, and hope you will be able to visit us in future from your personal computer. Thanks again for writing!

Yours in health,
The Jamieson Team

As my company blocks facebook for employees, I can't get access at work and I struggle to find time at home to vote every day.

Why link this to Facebook?? Why can't the URL just be straight to the voting site?

VERY ANNOYING.
