"Love that it includes vit D3 in a pretty high quantity to help the calcium absorption. Somewhat large pill, but haven't had issues swallowing it (and I'm petite). No particular smell or taste (unless you keep in your mouth for a while, and then you start to feel the calcium carbonate - but nothing unpleasant. I take these daily while breastfeeding to help boost my calcium intake as my baby is certainly depriving me of it! I also take it together with pre/post-natal vitamins and haven't had any issues."

- Hi, Does Mega Cal contains calcium carbonate from oyster shells? I'm on a low iodine diet and must avoid seafood and sea products. Thank you!
- Hi Iulia, This product does not contain oyster shells, however our facilities are not allergen free. Each Jamieson product is manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as certified by Health Canada. GMP protocols are government-regulated guidelines for all activities related to fabricating, testing, packaging, labelling, distributing, importing, and wholesaling drugs and natural-health products for human or veterinary use. GMP procedures include strict protocols for cleaning of equipment between products to eliminate the possibility of contamination. Therefore, depending on the severity of your allergy or diet, it may be important to note that we are not an allergen free facility.
- The directions on my bottle and here say take 1 - 2 mini-tab TM caplets daily but these are mega cal TM tablets not caplets. Is the dose the same?
