Everyone wins with Jamieson’s Call For The Wild!

Sep 16, 2014

Toronto, Ontario (September 16, 2014) — Thanks to all Canadians who voted during Jamieson’s Call for the Wild! 2014. Now in its fifth year, the popular people’s choice program has again awarded $100,000 to community groups that are working to protect, conserve and rehabilitate Canada’s iconic wildlife and wilderness. Every vote helped determine the donation total that each organization received from the Call for the Wild! fund.

The leading organization is Regroupement Québec Oiseaux from Montréal, Québec. The group received 45 % of the popular vote and a $45,000 donation. “We are thrilled by the show of public support during Call for the Wild!” said Jean-Sébastien Guénette, Executive Director of the organization for the study, observation and protection of birds in Québec. “We plan to use this generous donation to help support the Québec Breeding Bird Atlas, a research project that has mobilized more than 2,000 participants. Many thanks to Jamieson for helping to engage Canadians in the important work of all the finalists.”

Other Call for the Wild 2014! finalists received:

  • Cobequid Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre (Nova Scotia) $33,000
  • North Island Wildlife Recovery Association (British Columbia) $11,000
  • Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre Manitoba) $7,000
  • Wildlife Preservation Canada (Ontario) $4,000

More than 22,000 votes were cast on facebook.com/jamiesonvitamins between August 18 and September 14. The public was also invited to post questions for the finalists on Jamieson’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
