- Is this Collagen Type II? I'm assuming yes since it says its for joints but it doesn't specify which it is in the ingredients.
- Thank you for contacting Jamieson vitamins. Bovine collagen is a source of types 1 and 3. Type 2 collagen is typically sourced from chicken. Collagen is made up of a variety of amino acids which are broken down during digestion and reformed as needed into the various types of collagen (there are more than 20 types) used throughout the body. Hydrolyzed bovine collagen has been shown to reduce joint pain associated with osteoarthritis and this beneficial health claim is approved by Health Canada.
